HOW MUCH DO PEOPLE CARE ABOUT ENDANGERED ANIMALS?
INTRO.
According to an IFAW report, between 1970 and 2012, the number of species of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and fish decreased by 68%. (International Fund for Animal Welfare [Ifaw], 2024). The risk of extinction for most animals and plants is primarily due to habitat destruction, poaching, and natural disasters, most of which are caused by human activities.
However, as most industries continue to develop, nature is being destroyed in proportion to that development, leading to imbalances in the ecosystem. Specifically, human activities like Deforestation, Industrialization, and agricultural expansion have increased. these activities can cause climate change, global warming and environmental issues - and these can threaten the survival of wild animals.
Animals are an important indicator of the health of the environment. The increasing number of endangered species demonstrates the severity of environmental problems.

Environmental changes will disappear first, humans may be next.
Perhaps the extinction of animals is nature's silent cry, a warning directed at humanity.
